Mobile payments are quickly gaining popularity

Consumers are more likely to commit money transactions using mobile devices – smartphones and tablet computers. This is evidenced by statistics promulgated by the Amsterdam Adyen.

It is reported that in December 2013 the share of mobile payments had 19.5% of all electronic money transfers. The popularity of this form of payment has risen by 55% compared to the last month of 2012.

Most often used for mobile payments iPhone smartphones and tablets iPad. Thus, various models of iPad in the period from September to December accounted for about 41% of all remittances made using gadgets. Second place went to iPhone devices with 31.6%. Smartphones running Android have shown the result in 20%, and Android-Tablets – 6.6%. Mobile devices with Windows and BlackBerry OS used for electronic payments is much rarer: the result of each of these platforms – less than one percent.
