Remove SearchYa! Toolbar and (Uninstall Guide)

SearchYa! is a web search engine owned by Ironsource Ltd., located  in Israel. There’s also a browser toolbar with the same name SearchYa! Toolbar. Both products come bundled with freeware and third-party applications.

Both the SearchYa! toolbar and SearchYa! web search engine came bundled with a free FLV player application . Once installed, it changes default search engine in Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox with SearchYa!.  You can remove FLV player application software quite easily but SearchYa! Toolbar and SearchYa! Search web  address bar search provider remain in the system even after removing FLV player application. SearchYa! Toolbar comes bundled with other software as well.

It changes home page as well and redirects the web search in to Searching directly from the address bar redirects to too. So the customers or users installed this one feels it’s a searchya redirect virus.

SearchYa toolbar works in IE and Firefox. Chrome gets Speed Dial 4.0 extension instead of toolbar.  SearchYa Web Search removal might be specially difficult for Mozilla Firefox users.

To remove SearchYa web search and toolbar from your computer, please follow the removal instructions below.


SearchYa! removal instructions:

Go to Control Panel –> Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features in Vista and 7) –> look for SearchYa! Web Search —> Uninstall

Go to  C:\Program Files\SearchYa!\\uninstall , then run the uninstaller.

Once you removed SearchYa! and SearchYa!  Toolbar don’t forgot to reset your browser home page.

To uninstall the SearchYa! Add-ons   from Mozilla  Firefox

1: On the Menu Bar of  Mozilla  Firefox, go to “Tools” -> “Add-ons“:

2: Select the SearchYa! you wish to uninstall from the Extensions list – then click “Uninstall“:

3: When prompted to do so, restart Firefox:

Now we need to remove the SearchYa! from the Search Engines.

4: Click the small magnifier icon at the right top corner as shown in the image below. Select Manage Search Engines… from the list.

5: Select Search  and click Remove button. Click OK to save the changes.

6: To remove from Mozilla Firefox’s Home page:

Open Mozilla Firefox, go ‘Tools’ → Options’. Finally, reset the startup homepage or change it to instead of under the ‘General’ tab.

To uninstall the SearchYa! Add-ons  from Internet Explorer

1: On the Menu Bar of Internet Explorer, go to “Tools” -> “Manage Addons“:

2: Select the SearchYa!  you wish to uninstall from the Toolbars &  Extensions list – then click “Disable“:

3: In the Search Providers you may see SearchYa! as Defaullt Search Provider. Change that one with any other Search Provider like or

4: How to remove from Internet Explorer’s Home Page:

Open Internet Explorer  and go to ‘Tools ‘→ ‘Internet Options’ → Select ‘General’ Tab. Click ‘Use default’ or enter your own website name, or other instead of Finally, click ‘OK’ to save the changes.


To uninstall the SearchYa! Add-ons  from Google Chrome

1. Click on Customize and control Google Chrome icon. Go to Tools  Extensions.

Or  in new Version Tools Settings→ Extensions.

OR got to chrome://chrome/extensions/ in Google Chrome.

2.Select SpeedDial  from the Extensions list   and click Uninstall/Remove.

3. How to Remove www. from Google Chrome home page:
1. Click on the icon ‘Customize and control Google Chrome’, select ‘Options’.
2. Choose ‘Basic’ Options and change Google Chrome homepage to or any other website and then click the ‘Manage search engines…’ button.
3. Choose ‘Google’ and make it your default search engine.
4. Select Google from the list and make it your default search engine.
5. Select Searchya  from the list remove it by clicking the “X” mark as shown in the image below. Chances for Google Chrome get corrupt due to this one very less.
After all  this steps if you are still see the SearchYa! or SearchYa!   Toolbar do the following also to remove it completely . .
Associated SearchYa!, SearchYa! Toolbar  files and registry values:
Press on Windows Key and R key together on the keyboard
Now you will get a Run Window. Inside the Run window Type REGEDIT and press on Ok.
Now you can see a Registry. (Be Care Full While using registry)If you are uncomfortable editing the registry DO NOT ATTEMPT IT.If you DO want to edit BACK UP the registry first by using ERUNT which can be downloaded from here Find the steps here How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
After Taking Registry back up Got to the registry locations
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SearchYa!  and delete SearchYa!
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SearchYa! and delete SearchYa!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SearchYa!  and delete SearchYa!
Delete all of the Folders and Files Associated with SearchYa!
C:\Program Files\SearchYa!\
C:\program files (x86)\SearchYa!\    (In Windows Vista and 7 Only)
C:\ProgramData\SearchYa!\       (In Windows Vista and 7 Only)
C:\User\{Your User Name}\AppData\Local\SearchYa! (In Windows Vista and 7 Only)
C:\User\{Your User Name}\AppData\Roming\SearchYa!  (In Windows Vista and 7 Only)
c:\Documents and Settings\{Your User Name}\Application Data\SearchYa!
c:\Documents and Settings\{Your User Name}\Local Settings\Application Data\SearchYa!
Delete all this folders called SearchYa!…….
And restart the computer. Now it will be gone Fully.
