Excess cholesterol in the blood – a major factor occurrence of atherosclerosis and heart attack, which in 60 percent of cases the cause of death. U.S. scientists have developed a new technology that allows the user to watch the iPhone cholesterol in the body.
Cornell University research team has developed a unique device, which is based on advanced optical technology. The machine detects biomarkers in a drop of blood, sweat or saliva.
For the test, the user need to handle special reagents for the test strip, which is applied a drop of blood. Rays emitted by the flash iPhones appear from the test strip and create a color image. Special application performs a colorimetric analysis of images thus determine the concentration of cholesterol in the body.
So far, the unit displays the total cholesterol, ie there is no differentiation in the “bad” and “good”, but scientists continue to work on the gadget.
