Increasing Performance in Windows XP / System Slow
     
Here do we have few more steps to increase the performance of the windows xp Computer :
 
Click Start and then Run and type regedit. 
 
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\DisablePagingExecutive.  Set the value to be
1 ;Speed up shutdown
 
 Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control - "WaitToKillServiceTimeout"="1000". 
 
Force Windows to Unload DLLs from Memory:
 
Go to  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AlwaysUnloadDLL] - "Default"="1"
 
Go to  [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop]- "AutoEndTasks"="1"
 
 Application Hung Timeout value:
 
Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]- "HungAppTimeout"="1000".
 
Grace time before killing apps on shutdown:
 
Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]- "WaitToKillAppTimeout"="1000"
 
[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop] - "HungAppTimeout"="1000"
 
 [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop] - "WaitToKillAppTimeout"="1000"
 

Restart the computer.
