Information:

Vista Antispyware 2010, also known as Antispyware XP 2010, is one of the latest and hottest counterfeit antispyware that devastates the Internet community. It is believed that Antispyware XP 2010 is simply a clone of Antispyware 2008 XP. Antispyware XP 2010 is not a real Antispyware application, exactly what their intention is, which is to confuse and distract users. In fact, Vista Antispyware 2010 is an useless piece of application to scare the innocent users. It usually come up after you installed a video codec that come with Trojan, malware and virus. Antispyware XP 2009 normally generates fake and misleading system popup error messages so end-users will be tricked into purchase Vista Antispyware 2010, or XP Antispyware 2010.

Removal Instruction:

1. Open task manager and kill the process av.exe
2. Delete the infected file from the following location

"C:\Users\%User profile% \AppData\Local\av.exe"

After remove the infected file you may encounter problem to open the exe files getting open with message or Application not found, if follow the steps.

Manual removal:

1. Open system32 and run cmd.exe as Administrator
2. In the command window type regedit.exe, it will open registry editor
3. Then Navigate to following location and reset the default values

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe\shell\open\command "%1" %*
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\secfile\shell\open\command "%1" %*
HKLM\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet\iexplore.exe\shell\open\command C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe

More Registry Location:

  1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.exe\shell\open\command "(Default)" = "%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\av.exe" /START "%1" %*
    Change the value to
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.exe\shell\open\command "(Default)" = "%1" %*
  2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\secfile\shell\open\command "(Default)" = "%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\av.exe" /START "%1" %*
    Change the value to
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe\shell\open\command "(Default)" = "%1" %*

    Change the value to

Detect and delete other Vista Antispyware 2010 file:
%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\WRblt8464P

Note: Perform a scan on a safer side and make sure there is an antivirus software installed on the computer.
